Our Instructor staff includes several high ranking members of our Instructor community. As well as being talented martial artists, our instructors are certified at the United Studios of Self Defense Teaching Academy.

Instructors are still training and remember what is is to be a student.

Black Belt Instructor

 

Justin St. Lawrence

Justin St. Lawrence is the Chief Instructor at San Mateo. A Second Degree Black Belt, Justin is a graduate of the Untied Studios of Self Defense Teaching Academy and has been studying Martial Arts for over 11 years.

Justin is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology. He a Certified Personal Trainer, and is also CPR/AED Certified.

Justin's knowledge and easy-going nature makes him very popular with both kids and adults.

 

 

Carrie Bockholt

Carrie Bockholt is a Third Degree Brown Belt and a member of the United Studios of Self Defense Teaching Academy.

Carrie a a very active volunteer and supporter of her community, including managing the distribution of Girl Scout Cookies in Foster City and San Mateo. Carrie enjoys flying and recently received her private pilot's license.

Carrie inspires students by challenging them with positive goal setting and reinforcement of good behavior in her lessons. Carrie works with Men, Women and Children.
